From the Desk of Father Jason - May 24, 2026
Dear Saint Francis Xavier Parishioners,
Bishop’s Appeal started way back on the weekend of February 8-9.
Thank you to all of you who have prayed for our Bishop’s Appeal and especially for those who have been able to make a donation.
At the beginning, my hope was that we would have collected our goal by this weekend, Pentecost 2026. We did not. Our goal this year was $50,104 with 193 donors. As of this weekend, we have raised $40,254 with 190 donors.
While this can seem disappointing, there is some good news.
First, while I set a goal for this weekend, this was a personal goal not the official goal. The actual closing of the campaign is in September. We have more time.
Two, while we have not yet reached the goal, last year we missed our goal by $14,292. Already, we have done better than all of last year.
Three, since the beginning of the Bishop’s Appeal, the Diocese of Green Bay has helped our us out in two additional ways that are funded by the Bishop’s Appeal. The first way was that they provided us with an extensive review of our finances and procedures. This has helped me to know that we are doing all that we can to be good stewards of our financial resources. The second way is that I met with the Diocese and will collaborate with them to jump start our discipleship and evangelization processes this fall. This is exciting to me. Without the Bishop’s Appeal, neither of these things would have happened.
We have made progress. I believe that we can raise the funds by September and reach our donor goal. If you have not made a donation yet, please consider doing so. If you can add to your donation, I would appreciate that. I added $100 to my donation. In the end, the shortfall will come out of the parish budget.
Sincerely through Jesus,
Fr. Jason
