Meal Ministry

“For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, a stranger and you welcomed me, naked and you clothed me, ill and you cared for me, in prison and you visited me.”

Saint Francis Xavier and Saint Mary Parishes feed the hungry and underserved at NEW Community Shelter, Freedom House, St. John’s Homeless Shelter, and Wellspring Women’s Shelter. The majority of the food for meal service is purchased with parishioners supplementing with sides/dessert/beverages.

Time Commitment

  • NEW Community Shelter is the 3rd Monday of the month

  • Freedom House is the last Tuesday of the month

  • St. John’s Homeless Shelter is a weeknight in December annually.

  • Wellspring Women’s Shelter is the 3rd Tuesday of the month.

  • All are 90 minute commitments.

Training

Hand on training is provides by experienced volunteers.
