From the Desk of Father Jason - October 18, 2026
Dear Saint Francis Xavier Parishioners,
First, thank you to all who serve in the parish. Your day in and day out commitment to service allows us to worship the Lord God well and serve our community.
We are stewards of God. We share. We serve. We pray.
Stewardship of service. Saint Peter tells us, “As each one has received a gift, use it to serve one another as good stewards of God’s varied grace” (1 Peter 4:10). We are called to serve by using our time and our talents.
Each of us is a “minister-member” of Saint Francis Xavier Parish.
I would like to address those who because of health limitations cannot physically or mentally undertake active ministry. There is a place of service for you. I am starting a group called the Intercessors of St. Francis Xavier. The ministry of this group is to pray for the needs of the parish. There are no meetings. Just a commitment to pray for the needs of the parish each day. Parish needs will be found in the bulletin.
For those whose health allows them to undertake active ministry, please consider doing two ministries each. I would like you to do one ministry at the Mass and one other ministry outside of the Mass.
The Mass. It takes a lot of people to worship the Lord God smoothly at Saint Francis Xavier. Each Mass needs 19 people in addition to music to make things run well. That is 57 people per weekend. If each person only serves every three weeks, that is 171 people helping out with the Masses. That is a lot of minister-members! We need you serving at the Mass.
Outside of the Mass. There are numerous ministries at Saint Francis Xavier Parish. Please choose one that you would enjoy. Absolutely do not do something that you would not like.
Next weekend, we will have a ministry fair after each Mass in the gathering space. Please plan on staying afterward and signing up for two ministries.
Sincerely through Jesus,
Fr. Jason
