From the Desk of Father Jason - March 8, 2026

Dear Saint Francis Xavier Parishioners,

On April 7, there will be the 2026 Spring Election. In preparation, the Catholic bishops of Wisconsin have issued “A Letter to Wisconsin Catholics on Faithful Citizenship.” Increased political polarization can tempt us to disengage. But the bishops urge Catholics to “pray, form your conscience, vote, and remain engaged in civic life.” This letter is included as an insert in our bulletin. Please read it and prayerfully reflect on the candidates we have running for public office this Spring.

Thank you very much for your donations to the Bishop’s Appeal 2026. So far, we have raised $25,639. That is 51.2% of our total appeal goal of $50,104. We have had 107 donors already. That is 55.4% of our goal of 193 donors. We are doing well for a completion date of Pentecost, May 24. Each donation is a work of mercy done for the people of northeast Wisconsin. If you have not given yet, please prayerfully consider a gift this year. Every gift, large and small, helps.

It also helps us to know about the good things happening in our parish. For fiscal year, 2024-2025, we had a total of nine children’s baptisms. Since July 1, we have had four baptisms. I have been concerned with the trend. But in the last few weeks, I have had families approach us about having six children baptized over the next many months. Pray for the families getting their children baptized and pray that others will choose St. Francis Xavier Parish as their faith home.

I am using a new resource for the preparation of Baptism families. It is called Belong: Baptism in the Family of God. I have used this resource once already and I am thankful for the conversation that it encouraged.

Sincerely through Jesus,

Fr. Jason
