From the Desk of Father Jason - January 25, 2026
Dear Saint Francis Xavier Parishioners,
Every parent has an obligation to make the best choice for the education of their children. This includes both secular pursuits and formation in the Catholic faith. We want our children to become saints.
On the eastside of De Pere, we are blessed to have many educational options: public schools, home schooling, and our Catholic Schools.
Because it is Catholic Schools Week, I would like to reflect upon Catholic education.
My parents were both products of Catholic elementary schools. They had good experiences and desired to have that for their family. Unfortunately, that was not an option where we lived.
The next generation, for my nieces and nephew, Catholic schools are an option. The three oldest attended St. Bernard Catholic School. My nephew is currently a student at Notre Dame Academy. The youngest niece attends St. Mary Middle School in Neenah. I have been very happy with the education they have received.
At St. Francis Xavier, we are blessed to share a Catholic school with St. Mary Parish, Notre Dame of De Pere. More than forty of our parish children attend Notre Dame of De Pere. We are also blessed to have two Catholic high schools in the area. More than twenty-one of our teens attend Notre Dame Academy.
Our Catholic schools provide a good option for the education of our children. If you have children, please strongly consider our Catholic schools. I visit Notre Dame of De Pere at least twice a week. I am also on the Board of Education for Notre Dame Academy. Both provide strong education.
Other News. This weekend, a couple of our parish council members are talking about the Esto Vir Men’s Conference on February 21, 2026. I would like to send as many men as possible from our parish. Please see the rest of the bulletin for further details. I wholeheartedly support it.
Sincerely through Jesus,
Fr. Jason
