From the Desk of Father Jason - April 12, 2026
Dear Saint Francis Xavier Parishioners,
Do you have a relationship with the Holy Spirit?
Whether you know it or not, you do.
The Holy Spirit is the third person of the Trinity. The Holy Spirit is God. In Baptism, the Holy Spirit made a home in each one of us. This is known as the indwelling of the Holy Spirit. No matter where we go, God lives in us. This is the Catholic faith.
But many Catholics do not know the Holy Spirit well. This has got to change.
The Wild Goose is coming to Saint Francis Xavier Parish. The “Wild Goose” was an image used by the ancient Celtics Christians to describe the Holy Spirit. When I think of the Holy Spirit, I think of a meek dove or a calm flickering flame. Both are good Biblical images. But neither of them captures the wildness of the Holy Spirit. The image of the Wild Goose signifies the Holy Spirit’s freedom, spontaneity, and powerful nature.
I invite you to come to know the Holy Spirit! Come and personally know God Himself. It is possible.
How? The parish and I will be offering a video and discussion series called the Wild Goose. It is designed to help us discover a deeper relationship with the Holy Spirit. It focuses on spiritual renewal, mercy, and God’s love.
Do not miss this opportunity!
It will be offered on both Tuesdays at 6:30 pm and Thursdays at 8:15 am. You only need to attend one session a week. There is no cost. The time commitment per week is no more than a half an hour. The start dates are Tuesday April 21 and Thursday April 23.
Our Catholic faith is meant to transform us. Personally knowing the Holy Spirit is a huge step in living out our faith fully.
Sincerely through Jesus,
Fr. Jason
