From the Desk of Father Jason - October 5, 2025

Dear Saint Francis Xavier Parishioners,

We do not own our time, talent, and treasure, or even our own lives. They are from God. They are on loan from the Lord.

We are Christian stewards. A Christian steward manages their life and the things that make up their life in order to build the Kingdom of God and become rich in what matters to God.

How can we invest our lives? We do it through prayer, service, and sharing.

The last two weeks, we have examined what it means to invest in prayer, both communal and personal. Jesus expects us to do both, most especially Mass every weekend.

Service is the next area of stewardship. Service is where we can invest our time and our talents for the Kingdom of God. The major place we are called to do this is our parish.

One of the most important things that the parish does is the worship of God through Jesus Christ. I believe that each parishioner who is able should volunteer for a ministry at the Mass. Please consider the various ministries found on the back of this letter. Hopefully, one speaks to you. After you determine what ministry you would like to do, let me know and we will get you training.

Other News. As St. Francis Xavier and St. Mary are now unlinked, we have been trying to determine what is done better together and what is done better apart. Two areas that will be changing are the bulletin and the website. Each parish will have its own bulletin starting the weekend of November 1-2. Each parish will have its own website. There is not a deadline for that yet.

Other Other News. When I came to St. Francis Xavier, the Diocese of Green Bay had already begun a parish planning process for the cities of Green Bay and De Pere. This planning process included all the priests as well as two parishioners from each parish. Through this process of meetings, thirteen plans were presented for how to configure the parishes of Green Bay and De Pere for the future. In the month of September, the priests and parish representatives voted on the plans. These results were presented last week, and these results will go to the bishop to discern what course of action to take. When I have definitive answers, I will make sure you become aware of them. Otherwise, feel free to contact me and make an appointment if you would like more information. I do not have much more than what I just wrote here.

Sincerely through Jesus,

Fr. Jason
