Dear Saint Francis Xavier Parishioners,
What can we do for God? We can serve in His Church here at Saint Francis Xavier Church.
I want to draw your attention to next weekend’s ministry fair, October 25-26. Over the past two weeks, I have been writing about stewardship of service. This ministry fair is where the tire meets the road. Many of the ministries of St. Francis Xavier, both at the Mass and outside of the Mass will be featured.
Please stop by the ministry fair and walk around after next weekend’s Masses. Make it your goal to sign up for a couple of ministries, one at Mass and one outside of Mass.
Sign up to minister at the Mass. We are in need of Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion (Eucharistic Ministers), Lectors, Choir Members, and Ushers. Think and pray about what you could do best, what suits you. You are already coming to Mass, why not serve your fellow parishioner at the same time?
Sign up for one of the other parish ministries in addition to the Mass. Do not sign up for just any ministry, but one that you would enjoy doing, the one Jesus wants you to do. If none of the ministries catches your attention and you have an idea for a ministry, contact me (FrJason@saintsdepere.org or 920-336-1813) and we can see if it is part of God’s plan for St. Francis Xavier. I am very willing to entertain new ideas, especially if you take the lead on it.
I hope to see you at the ministry fair and really listen to where the Holy Spirit might be calling you to serve at St. Francis Xavier Parish.
Other news. At the parish council on Thursday, October 9, I got a chance to talk about some of the good news happening at our parish. Since July 1, 2025, our Mass count has been up on average 51.8 people per weekend from last year at this time. On an average weekend, we saw 437.9 people coming to our three Masses over the past three and a half months. While we have only celebrated one wedding since COVID, we are preparing three couples for Marriage next summer. Twelve new families have joined the parish since July 1. We went from four altar servers to twenty. Good things are happening at St. Francis Xavier and the Holy Spirit is at work. Thank you for all you do to make coming to the parish a good experience. We are moving in a good direction. We are doing work of Jesus, building the Kingdom of God.
