From the Desk of Father Jason - November 30, 2025

Dear Saint Francis Xavier Parishioners,

Happy Advent! I cannot believe that I have been here five months now. I think the time has moved so quickly for me because it is good to be here.

In Advent, we wait for the coming of the Lord Jesus Christ. Early in the Advent season, we are actually waiting for the Second Coming of Jesus Christ in glory at the end of time. It is only as we get close to December 25 that we start to remember his First Coming, Christmas. This is the quiet entering of God Himself into human history.

There is a Third Coming of Christ that is invisible. This happens in our minds, hearts, and souls. Jesus comes to us at every Eucharist and other sacrament. This Third Coming of Christ happens in prayer. Let our goal this Advent be to have Jesus enter into our lives in this third, invisible way this Advent.

What is going on at Saint Francis Xavier this Advent?

More Reconciliation/Confession. Advent is a time to prepare for the Lord to enter into our lives in a profound way. One of the best ways to prepare is through the Sacrament of Reconciliation/Confession. Starting on Tuesday December 2, there will be Reconciliation/Confession offered on Tuesday evenings from 6-7 pm. The last day will be December 23.

The Saints of De Pere Ladies Ministry Holiday Boutique. We will be having local craft vendors who will be selling in the Parish Social Hall after Masses during the monthly donut social on November 29-30.

Advent Vigil Service. In conjunction with our second Tuesday of the month Adoration day, we will have a special prayer service for Advent on December 9. This service will begin in prayer at 6 pm, have time to adore the Lord in the Blessed Sacrament, and then end with Benediction with the Blessed Sacrament.

Sincerely through Jesus,

Fr. Jason
